history
**Even though this clan is so big it has a clear history of its origin. Their history is as follows:**

Our Migration
They came from East of Central Africa around the Lake Tanganyika. They are the decendents of Chief Sibiside, and the son of Sibiside was Njanya. Njanya gave birth to two twins Mpondomise (the first/elder twin) and Mpondo (the second twin). Mpondo is the twin who gave birth to (Amampondo clan such as Faku, Nyawuza etc).
Our Lineage
After Mpondomise and Mpondo Njanya gave birth to Xesiba “imfusi” (a person who is born after twins in Xhosa is called imfusi). Mpondomise gave birth to Ntose and Ntose had three wives, the first wife gave birth to Cwera (from whom Amacwera originated), the second wife gave birth to Mpinga( from whom the whole clan of Amampinga originated.

**Our Story Continues**
The third wife of Ntose gave birth to Ngcwina (who became the chief of Amampondomise because his mother was of royal origin and was the mother of Mpondomise clan)(wayezekwe sisizwe).
It is Ngcwina who gave birth to Dosini, Ngwanya, Jola etc. out of the three sons of Ntose (Cwera, Mpinga & Ngcwina), our focus will be on Mpinga(e).
It must also be clear that Amampinga are also Amampondomise because Mpinga was the grandson of Mpondomise. It must also be borne in mind that Amampinga do not belong to Jola nor to Ngwanya because Jola, Ngwanya and Dosini came from Ngcwina (were born by Ngcwina)
Mpinga gave birth to twins, Mawawa (first twin) and Phahla(second twin). After Mawawa and Phahla, Mpinga gave birth to Mbhusha (imfusi).
Mawawa gave birth to Senzwa, then the other generation of Senzwa include Nt’omntwana, Sineka, Nkqoshe, Mbhala and others. Hence some of the clan names of all Amampinga include Mpinga, Mawawa, Senzwa, Ntomntwana, Mbhala-ka-Nkqoshe and so on).
It is these people who further gave birth to all the people whose clan name is Mpinga(e). The broad general family tree for Amampinga can be depicted as follows:
